Christmas Fundraiser

Stay tuned for a "Christmas Trees of Glory" fundraiser. Our sponser child, Dege, along with 83 other children are at the Trees of Glory daycenter in Ethiopia. They have a large area of land that the daycenter (school) is located on and now have been told by the government that unless they have livestock on the land the government will take it back. We will be raising money for a barn and 4 cows which they will be able to use for milk. The details will be worked out soon. Please consider donating in your name or someone else's name (great christmas present).

Trees of Glory

One of Children's Hope Chest care-point centers in Ethiopia is "Trees of Glory". That's where our sponsor child, Dege, is. Nick, my nephew, was able to visit recently. He wasn't able to see the children because it was a school holiday. Which actually, if you think about it, was a blessing. A blessing because until very recently, these children had never even gone to school and now they were on a "school holiday".

Tree's of Glory is a care-point in Ethiopia (about 2 hours North of Addis Ababa) that serves 84 orphaned and destitute kids. Although the terrain and the landscape are beautiful, this semi-mountainous region has been hit hard by famine and drought. The local government has identified the neediest and most vulnerable children in the area, and has assiged 84 children to "Trees of Glory".

Most of the children are orphans and are living with a relative (i.e. uncle, aunt, sister). These children never had the opportunity to go to school. The care-point will provide nutritious meals, clothing, medical care and an opportunity to go to school!! The staff at Children's Hopechest has already started meeting with the kids, counseling, mentoring and demonstrating the love of God.
